Joey C`s Roadhouse BBQ & Tex-Mex in Milford

I LOVE eating here. The food is the BEST!! BBQ SOUL food type fair and it is worth a drive to the end of the Post Road. It is a small hole in the wall place that I love. Prices are decent, and staff is friendly. Drinks are cold and refreshing. Also they are open on Mondays

It's food. The restaurant is clean, staff is friendly, food is just ok. Had the Pulled Pork Sandwich and the Roadhouse Burger. Sandwich was large portion, soft bread, but the meat was just bland (even with extra Carolina Sauce), although it was tender. Burger was OK, but way too seasoned.Has good weekly specials like Wild Wednesdays when wine bottles are half off (Guacamole Wednesday would be more in theme, but I digress).Overall, it satisfied need for local grub in Milford. But probably not worth travel to specifically.

We like this place. The wings came out with my dinner which was unfortunate. I got a tamale special that was really good. Service was quick and good. The scalloped potatoes were delicious as usual. We also got ribs. Baby back. Tender. Very good. It was a Monday night so the place was nearly empty.

The tuna tacos were amazing. Brisket with the Carolina sauce was on point. Melted in my mouth. The rice and beans were seasoned to perfection. Great beer selection. Super friendly staff. Sue was a great server. The kale salad was great. Only suggestion if you’re watching your sodium ask for your bbq sauce on the side. Definitely worth checking out.

Wow! I've eaten at the one in Stratford but there is a huge difference. I think because " roadhouse" is attached to the name is the difference,! Ribs falling off the bone! Brisket wonderfully smokey..! Burgers with overflowing toppings! Not a gigantic menu but more than substantial! Some great appetizers ( the Brussels sprouts with bacon👍the slab thick cut bacon! 😁) Drinks were fun( a few choices for margaritas not the regular run of the mill kind)...& Moist cornbread..😸 the salad we had( shared a large-3 people) was fresh and they make a dressing with lime that's a nice change ....too full for dessert but ordered one anyway...already made plans to return soon ! This is to be a much visited spot👏

Service was great but food is not that great. I ordered beef brisket which in my opinion is pretty hard to mess up. It tasted like overcooked meat done in a crock pot. Sides were pretty good. May try a different meal sometime but its not worth going out of your way to visit.

Some parts were great; the meat was cooked perfectly, the sides were fantastic, good and friendly service. But the BBQ sauce was awful. Watery and bland. I read Joey's bio in the menu, and this may sound harsh, but it is exactly the kind of BBQ sauce you would expect from some raised in New York.

This place tried (and falls short of) to be a Tex/Mex fusion type place. To start the parking lot is bizarrely laid out and cramped. The table and floors were sticky. Our hostess was also the sole waitress for the restaurant, the server/host was friendly and she was doing her job to the best of her abilities. However, the worst part by far was the food we ordered an appetizer before our meal and nowhere on the menu did it state that the nachos would be smothered in BBQ sauce, the meat on them was cold, and the chips were incredibly soggy. It was disgusting. They were basically inedible and very far away from the idea of a traditional nacho. Definitely not for me we ate a few bites and we decided we couldn’t eat anymore. We probably won’t be coming back.

What happened? When Joey C's first opened the food was incredible - Best ribs around. But...not sure what happened - The change seemed to have happened when the Joey C's Boathouse opened. We've tried it a few times, but the ribs were dry, overcooked, and the BBQ sauce was just too salty. The baked beans were unbelievably salty, and inedible. The size of the cornbread they serve has been cut in half, but the price remained the same. We will be searching for a new BBQ spot. ☹️

Worst service in Milford, tried three times over the last few months food is subpar as well.

Really, really good BBQ! The brisket, baby back ribs, and chili-lime chicken were AMAZING! SO much flavor, we didn't even really need the sauce. Brussel sprouts were really good, but a little big to comfortably chew; if they were a little smaller or cut in half they'd be perfect. The coleslaw had a little too much dressing for my taste, but great flavor. Overall, really good experience. Would definitely go back on our next trip through!

Fun mix of BBQ and Mexican. Everything was tasty. Wait staff was very nice and helpful. Small place with limited parking. This was my second time and still a great place to grab a bite.

Great friendly service, excellent margarita, tender, nicely smoked beef brisket, perfect balance of fat and lean. Excellent coleslaw and perfectly cooked and seasoned fries. Excellent experience.

I like this place very much. theres a very nice ambiance. The kitcen is splendid. the service is efficient and the team is friendly. The cost is modest. I definitely recommend.

Any weakness this place has is made up for in their amazing food. My compliments to the chef. If you ever have a bad day, just come here.

During the covid pandemic Joey C's service does not comply with regulations. Several employees without masks, no paper menus and lack of concern over proper safety procedures.

Great atmosphere! Chips with fresh made salsa & guacamole. Generous portions of Turkey chili & Smoked Turkey with homemade sweet potatoes fries & beans. Would definitely recommend ****

had take out dinner on march 26th food was excellent very filling had the el grande burrito best meal i ever ate great pricing on it was so filling i made 2 meals out of it

Summary of visit: The younger waitress was nice, but took too long to reach my table. The waitress took orders from others that were sat after me. I wasn’t offered a seat after entering the premise. I ordered a burger and was missing toppings. The older waitress was impolite and was rushing around. The burger was burnt on the bottom. It could’ve been a better experience, but the food wasn’t bad.

I ate their about three months ago. The food was great with a friendly relaxed atmosphere. I highly recommend.

Arrived over an hour before closing time. Out of consideration for scheduled business hours, ordered food and drink quickly. Food was good but slightly high price for the quality and portion you receive. Service from Mellisa was poor. She was very hurried with us right from the start and with the one other table near us, and gave us the bare minimum attention just to take the order and deliver the drink and meals. For our few minor additional requests we had to flag her down. She never checked in with us after the meals were delivered to ask if all was okay. As we sat for a minute after finished eating, we were approached and abruptly told "we are closing in 15 minutes". A short time later the check was delivered without asking if we needed anything else. We've had good experiences here before with other servers, but Mellisa is not a fit for the restaurant business.

Don't miss the Chicken Burrito, Roasted Corn and Chickpeas. Nice cozy place worth a visit. Reasonably priced and a cool place.

Due to a mistake with doordash a couple weeks ago, we ended up getting our order made here vs the Stratford location and it was so delicious. Tonight I tried to order from this location but accidentally ordered from Stratford and I can say 100% the Milford location is better quality and better cooks than Stratford. I am bummed I got tonight’s order wrong

Went to Joey C's without any expectations but was pleasantly surprised. Our waiter Timmy was great. The brisket was well cooked, tender and juicy, the pulled pork fell apart on the fork as good bbq should and the sauces were both excellent. We had the sweet potato fries and the smoked beans, both excellent and the portions were impressive. They run regular specials and we'll definitely go back to try some of the other menu items. Nice find

Good beer selection, good mix of appetizers and entrees with a BBQ/Tex Mex theme. Interior ambiance is good. Bartender was nice.
